Essential Travel

Welcome to Tor View, a unique place with unique facilities. Whether you are a large family having a holiday, or a group of friends, we can provide spacious, luxury accommodation for groups from 12 to 30. Plus a separate cottage for families or in addition to the Barn. As well as being the ideal holiday venue we have designed and fitted Tor View to provide the perfect venue for birthday and anniversary celebrations, With a large dinning room, extensive lounge and well equipped wood and granite kitchen, your special occassion will truly be one to remember. The barn is within easy reach of Bodmin (the A30 is just minutes away) with excellent links to Bristol, London and Dover. Attractions like the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the National Trusts famous Lanydrock House, are just minutes away

For families, we put in doubles and bunks/singles as required. Each room enables a family their own "space". For larger groups we put in singles or bunks. Each room has a television/video player and tea making facilities. And when the group gets together there is a cinema style TV system using the PC and projection system which also runs the DVD, video player and offers free internet access. Each of the six bedrooms has an en suite shower and there is an additional bathroom suitable for disabled use. There is a wet room in one of the disabled friendly bedrooms and a chair lift to access the first floor where we keep our own wheel chair. All bed linen is provided, please bring your own towels. Comfort is assured all year with Full Central Heating with individually operated thermostats in each room. Behind the Barn, is an easily accessible garden with picnic furniture and a BBQ. There is plenty of off road parking. Enjoy the stunning panoramic views from Tor View of Helman Tor, owned by the National Trust, and Breney Common. Upstairs in the lounge we have four settees and floor cushions for comfort and there are numerous games to keep the young, and young at heart occupied. With full TV facilities.

This is the perfect base for your walking, cycling or active holiday. With extensive tracts of moorland, heathland and woodland nearby you'll not be short of a new and invigorating experience each day. The Cornish Way is part of the national cycling network which is a visionary project to create 9,000 miles of routes for cyclists and walkers by 2005. Tor View is alongside network route number 3 - The Coast and Clay trail, which is a 45 mile (71.5 kilometres) section of the network which presently starts in Bodmin and ends in Truro - an unspoilt walking haven through woodland, along a former tramway and beside the water leats. The Camel Trail is ideal for wheelchair users and fantastic for off-road cycling and walking. Bodmin Moor is Europe's least-eroded moor and contains Cornwall's two highest points, “Brown Willy” and “Rough Tor” - and of course, is home to the famous “Dartmoor Ponies” and an abundance of wildlife. The Eden project is only 10 minutes by back roads helping to miss all the traffic and priority at the entrance! The Lost Gardens of Heligan are a short drive away as are wonderful beaches and coastal villages. With so much to see and do, and with such a variety of activities and facilities for the active visitor, Cornwall is the place to be!

Family celebrations or reunion, Tor View Barn is superbly equipped to cater for that special occassion. The barn is available from £222 per night, sole use for groups of 12 or more. Large barbecue area for the outdoor party; or comfortable lounge and dinning room for the chillier evenings.
