Tregeare is a very secluded old farmhouse reached down a long private drive and is surrounded by fields. An essential point about this property is that it is a family home which is only let for six weeks of the year and is therefore unlike a standard holiday house. It has lots of toys, books and china, ie has bags of character and is not a blank canvas.
There are 6 bedrooms: one king size and two antique doubles, the king size also having a sofa bed. There are bunk beds in a smaller bedroom, one other single room and then another single or twin room as required. There are two bathrooms, one with walk in airing cupboard.
The kitchen has an oil fired red Rayburn, oak dresser and large pine table. The adjoining scullery has Belfast sinks and a large modern gas/electric range cooker. The utility room provides the ideal space for dogs/wetsuits/coats etc and has a large American import washing machine,tumble dryer, generous fridge and traditional walk in larder.
There is an extensive drawing room with lots of sofa & chair space and an open fire with logs and coal provided. The garden is large and private and there is ample parking in the yard. The house is ideal for families and friends, particularly those with young children.
The farmhouse is situated 5 minutes inland from the charming fishing village of Port Isaac. The village has clusters of white-washed cottages, nice old pubs and several restaurants, and many galleries and gift shops. Port Isaac is currently well known as the main location for the filming of the television series Doc Martin. A few minutes further down the coast are Padstow, Rock and Daymer Bay, and similar short drive the other way brings you to Tintagel and Boscastle.
