Why not make your next family get together in the Yorkshire Dales? Dale House can be exclusively yours with accommodation for parties of up to 24 people throughout the year, self catering or catering can be provided. Dale House was built as an hotel by the local railway company for holidays in the Yorkshire Dales which were increasing in popularity at the end of the Victorian era, but the proposed extension to the line from Grassington to Kettlewell was never built, it has since been used as both a house and hotel.
The centrally heated accommodation comprises of the entrance vestibule opening onto a large hall way, which leads on to the Sitting Room with ample comfortable seating, open fire, colour TV and video with easy viewing video library, and a welcome pack of coal and logs. There is a fully equipped kitchen and a dining room with sufficient seating for large groups.
There are nine bedrooms, bedroom one has a double and a single bed with an en-suite shower room. There are four double bedrooms all of which has either en-suite bath or shower and wc. There are three en-suite twin bedrooms and bedroom nine has three single beds and is also en-suite. There are two bathrooms with spa baths.
Kettlewell is a long established village, mentioned in the Doomsday Survey of 1086 when it was known as Cheteleuuelle which means a bubbling stream or spring, it later became known as Ketelwell in 1189. Kettlewell is a thriving traditional dales village with approximately 300 houses, a Village Hall, which is available for hire, a Church, a primary school and childrens' playing field.
Other amenities include 3 Pubs, the Bluebell Hotel dating back to 1680 and the Racehorses Hotel a coaching inn from 1740, both are shown in the picture below, the other being the Kings Head located close to the village church, they all serve food at lunch time and evening, both bar meals and restaurant meals are available.
Prices are for weekly bookings, Friday to Friday but for most of the year it is possible to book for a weekend (Friday to Monday) or a midweek break (Monday to Friday).
