A superb family houses with fabulous views, Orchard Barn sleeps up to twelve in six bedrooms, and has a huge lounge, fully equipped kitchen, dining room and large private garden. Pets and children are welcome, and it’s ideal for two families or walking groups. Just two miles from Keswick in the heart of the Lake District, this is an ideal walking or climbing centre, or for visits to the hundreds of Lakeland attractions. Two bedrooms have double beds, the rest have twin beds, and there is a bathroom, a shower room and a further WC. Storage heater central heating and an optional coal fire keep the house snug in the coldest of winters. Outside the patio is well equipped with seats and picnic tables and faces South with fabulous views over the valley and mountains.
The three bedrooms on the first floor share a shower room and all have built in wardrobes. One has a double bed, one twins and one single. Upstairs again to the top floor brings three more bedrooms,again a double, a twin and a single, with two bathrooms.
The kitchen area has all home comforts, including dishwasher, microwave, electric cooker, fridge etc. A separate utility room houses the washing machine, tumble drier and freezer. There is also a cot, an iron and an ironing board. Heating is by electric storage heaters, with ancillary electric fires, and the coal fire in the lounge.
Also, we’re just two miles from Keswick, the jewel in the Lake District. A perfect town, between two lakes, -Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite. A town with all you could want, -cinema, a great theatre with a tremendous variety of shows, museums, art galleries, and the best outdoor equipment shopping centre in the country. Add in friendly pubs, where children and dogs are welcome, and bar meals good value; add in Lake Derwentwater, lapping at Keswick’s toes; add in the truly magnificent scenery, and there really can be nowhere better for a holiday.
All in all, a very comfortable base for groups up to twelve, with wonderful views over the Derwent Valley.
