La Boulangerie is close to the small market town of Brecey, 4 mins drive away, with restaurants and supermarkets. The historic town of Avranches is just 20 mins. by car.

This beautiful property, nestling under a cherry tree, is secluded in a rural setting but is also close to amenities. Situated on a quiet country lane with its own entrance, La Boulangerie is a perfect base for a holiday in Normandy. This 'petit' gite, which sleeps two and a baby, is a charming converted farm bakery in secluded grounds with orchards of apple, pear, peach and plum trees. The ground floor has an open-plan kitchen/living area and a TV, video and DVD player are provided. The beautiful stone chimney adds traditional charm to the living room. The newly refurbished kitchen (10/07) is fully equipped - all you need for a holiday home. The furniture in La Boulangerie has recently been replaced. There is a lovely new, comfortable sofa now, which is a great improvement on the one in the picture.
Upstairs, accessed by a miller's staircase, is a twin bedded room with ensuite shower, washbasin and wc. At the front of the gite there is a small patio with a barbecue, table and chairs. There is ample parking space on the drive. The gite boasts the original stone and clay oven (attached to the outside) along with many other attractive features.

There are two safe open air swimming pools and a paddling pool with life guards, tennis courts and a park with a lake all within 10 minutes walk or 3 mins drive of the cottage. Opposite the swimming pool there is a horse show-jumping arena where events are held. Also within 10 minutes drive there are specialist fishing lakes en route to Avranches. Within 3 minutes walk of the cottage, up the quiet country lane, are magnificent and extensive beech woods set on a hill overlooking beautiful rolling countryside. There you can walk or stroll in the cool shade of the beech trees and enjoy relaxed family picnics.
La Boulangerie is close to Brécey which is on the intersection of the D911 and D999, between Avranches and Villedieu. The gite is situated off the D911 which is off the D999. Full directions are supplied with our brochure.
Nearby Brécey has several small shops, bakers, supermarket, restaurant, bank, petrol station and garage. Friday is market day when local produce, fish, vegetables and Normandy cheeses are sold.
Mont St Michel is approx. 40 minutes by car. Mortain, 35 mins away, has superb walks beside 2 waterfalls, pony trekking, go-karting and the Abbaye Blanche, a famous old 'white' abbey. Avranches, the nearest large town, which is approx. 20 mins drive, has many shops, restaurants, museums, famous gardens and leisure park. The long, sandy, Normandy beaches are approx. 35 mins by car from the cottage. The D-Day landing beaches are about 60 mins drive.
The gite can be reached easily either by plane to St Malo, Dinard airport only an hour away, or by ferry to the following ports: St Malo or Caen/Ouistreham 1 hour drive; Le Havre 1.25 hours drive; Cherbourg 1.5 hours drive; and Calais/Eurotunnel 5 hours drive approx.
