Our peaceful cottage sleeps 6, plus cot, and has an open plan, oak beamed lounge/kitchen/dining area with a wood burning stove in a traditional large open fireplace, tiled flooring and central heating.
The interior is French farmhouse style, with white walls and honey coloured woodwork. The secluded cottage is set in large secure grounds of 1-2 acres, within orchards of apple, pear, plum and peach, off a very quiet country lane. Enjoy lovely walks in the nearby beech woods and country lanes, or the outdoor swimming pool and tennis courts, which are within walking distance. (2 mins by car)
La Tullerie is close to the small market town of Brecey, 4 mins drive away, with restaurants and supermarkets. The historic town of Avranches is just 20 mins. by car.

The living area of our traditional French cottage has wood beams throughout, with rich, russet tiled flooring covering the living and kitchen area. The log burning stove in the open fireplace provides great warmth and a focal point for winter evenings. We supply a basket of logs, harvested from our orchard of fruit trees. t is furnished with 2 comfortable new sofas and chairs and has Sky TV, DVD & CD players. We have some DVDs for you to watch and there's also a bookcase of novels if you enjoy quiet evenings in by the fire!
The white farmhouse kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could need for your holiday cooking- an electric oven, hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, cooking utensils, stainless steel pans and crockery. There is also a good sized washer-dryer. We have a beautiful pear wood, hand crafted, Normandy kitchen table, which comfortably sits 6, for you to enjoy your meals indoors in winter. For the rest of the year you'll probably want to sit outside on the patio to eat, basking in the peace and sunshine! There are 3 bedrooms in the cottage. The twin, en suite is downstairs off the kitchen/ living room. It has recently been completely refurbished and upgraded with a new, larger ensuite and modern shower.The ceiling has been raised to give a greater feeling of space and reveal the ancient oak beams. There is a traditional oak floor in the bedroom and the whole extension has a new roof.
Each bedroom is fully furnished with lovely white bedroom suites of comfortable beds,wardrobes and chests of drawers. The cottage has full central heating with radiators in each room. This makes it warm and comfortable even in the middle of the mild Normandy winters. There are views to the side and front of the downstairs bedroom, over our secluded orchard grounds.
Upstairs are two other bedrooms and a bathroom. The bedrooms have a double and twin beds which are at present arranged as a double and single in the larger, oak beamed room and a single in our smaller front bedroom. However the bedrooms can also be arranged as a separate twin and double if required. Both rooms have good views over our orchards and the larger room also has views across the countryside to the rear.
Outside: Walking through our new porch, on the south side of
La Tullerie, is a walled patio with sun loungers, table, chairs and BBQ -
perfect for relaxing meals. There is ample parking space in the grounds.
As the property is fenced it is safe for children to play. Please enjoy
the out door games which we provide. They can be found in the chest in
the living room. You can also stroll in the orchard and eat the fruit
- apples, pears, cherries, plums and peaches.
Walk up the hill from the cottage along the quiet country lane and you are
in magnificent, extensive beech woods, overlooking beautiful rolling
countryside, perfect for walking in the cool shade, or mountain biking.
In the other direction there are two safe open air swimming pools and
a children's pool, with life guards, tennis courts and a park with a
lake all within 10 minutes walk or 3 minutes drive from the cottage.
The quiet lake is ideal for family walks or picnics. Also within 10
minutes drive there are specialist fishing lakes en route to Avranches.
Brécey is situated on the intersection of the D911 and D999, between Avranches and Villedieu. La Tullerie is situated off the D911 which is off the D999. Full directions are supplied with our brochure.
Friday is market day in Brécey when local produce, fish, vegetables and Normandy cheeses are sold. Brécey has several small shops, a bakery, supermarket, restaurant, bank, petrol station, hairdressers and garage.
Mont St Michel is approx. 40 minutes by car. Mortain, 35 mins away, has superb walks beside 2 waterfalls, pony trekking, go-karting and Abbaye Blanche, a famous, old 'white' abbey.
Avranches, the nearest large town, which is approx. 20 mins drive, has many shops, restaurants, museums, famous gardens and leisure park.
The famous, long Normandy beaches are approx. 35 mins by car from the cottage. The D-Day landing beaches and museum are about 60 minutes drive.
The cottage can be reached easily either by plane to St Malo, Dinard airport only an hour away, or by ferry to the following ports: St Malo or Caen/Ouistreham 1 hour drive; Le Havre 1.25 hours drive; Cherbourg 1.5 hours drive; and Calais/Eurotunnel 5 hours drive approx.
