At a gateway to Le Grand Massif ski domain (Haute Savoie) at approximately 60km from Geneva, Le Chalet Fischer is situated in the delightful village of Verchaix (very close to Samoens and Morillon), in the Giffre Valley.
Facing due south, with beautiful panoramic views, it is spacious, light and airy and generates an atmosphere of conviviality, 'at homeness' and relaxation. On the first level, there is a lounge which has a wood burning stove and two sofas that convert into single beds, a dining area and a fully equipped kitchen with integrated appliances. There is a bedroom on this floor with two single beds, a shower room with washbasin (and washing machine) and a separate wc and washbasin. On the second level there is a bedroom with one double bed and one single bed and a bedroom with a single bed and a bunk bed. A mezzanine on the second level provides a further sleeping area with a standard double bed. A bathroom with two washbasins, bidet, wc, bath and overbath hand held shower as well as a shower room with washbasin and wc are on the second level.
Formed by the interlinked resorts of Morillon, Les Carroz, Flaine, Samoëns and Sixt, Le Grand Massif - as one of the largest ski areas in Europe - provides winter sports enthusiasts with slopes for skiers and snow boarders of all levels. The non-downhill skier can try, for example, cross country sking, snow shoeing, ice skating or sleighing.
In spring, summer and autumn Le Chalet Fischer is the perfect starting point for excursions to places such as Chamonix (Mont Blanc), Annecy, Evian and Yvoire, and in neighbouring Switzerland, Geneva, Ouchy/Lausanne, or Montreux. Local activities include mountain walking, climbing, cycling, paragliding, tennis, Via Ferrata, horse riding, canoeing, mountain biking using marked out tracks, potholing, rafting, swimming, aerial adventure routes, quad bikes.
Included in self-catering prices are: electricity, heating, hot water, towels, well-being items (soaps, shower gels, shampoos), bed linen (beds are made prior to arrival of guests), end of stay cleaning, local taxes, Wifi internet connection for guests with laptop computers and items such as washing up liquid, washing up sponges, dishwasher tabs, coffee filters, kitchen towels. Also, in winter, logs, assistance with pre-reservation of ski and/or board equipment to be hired. On arrival day, a complimentary welcome hamper.
Optional extras (price supplements) are: prior to arrival, or during stay, purchase of guests' shopping list items from supermarket and delivery to chalet; cleaning during stay; hire of bathrobes. In winter, assistance in advance of arrival with booking of ski and/or board lessons (please note that it is strongly recommended to book lessons well in advance of a holiday). Throughout the year, French (as a second language) tuition - conversation, vocabulary, and reading skills. Also English (as a second language) tuition - conversation, vocabulary and reading skills.
In winter, airport transfers can be arranged.
Prices are for self-catering accommodation. For winter bookings, prices quoted are per week per group of up to 8 persons. For spring, summer and autumn bookings, prices quoted are per week per group of up to 6 persons. For groups of 7 or 8 persons in spring, summer, or autumn, 'the larger the group, the lower the price per person' - please contact us with regard to prices. Bookings for 2 or 3 persons are accepted in spring, late summer and autumn (please enquire).
Permanent discounts/reductions: (A) 5% reduction in price of additional (consecutive) week(s) booked; (B) 15% reduction in price of bookings for children age 2 to under 13 years as at holiday start date; (C) children under 2 years as at holiday start date 'stay free-of-charge'.
