The old barn has been sympathetically converted, using local materials, into a modern self-contained gite, whilst retaining all of its original character. In the grounds the recently completed 12m x 6m swimming pool, with its wooden deck surround and sun loungers, has been a huge success.
The ground floor is open plan, the kitchen has been fully equipped with all modern appliances. The breakfast bar leads into the lounge area, with it's original beams and stone walls. The dining table seats 10 people. French windows, on two sides, open onto a private patio with BBQ with wooden garden furniture for alfresco dining. There is also a shower room and a wc on the ground floor. Stairs lead to four bedrooms, two with twin beds and two doubles with views over the surrounding vineyards and sunflower fields. There is also a large bath/shower room with wc. La Grange has full central heating for that break during the colder months.
The nearest beaches are 30 minutes drive along the pretty coast road towards Royan, past the ports of the Gironde estuary and pretty sandy bays which can be found before arriving at the expansive resort beaches of St-George-de-Didonne and Royan. The countryside around Les Tilleuls lends itself to walking or cycling. Cycles, with free use, are availabe on site.
