We are are situated in the Pyrenees west of Perpignan which lies on the Mediterranean coast just above the Spanish border in the area known as Roussillon in France. This area is itself a part of a much older region called Catalonia which straddles the eastern end of the Pyrenees stretching from Bezier in the north to Barcelona in the south and gives the area a unique character (and language). The area changed from Spanish to French rule a number of times during the middle ages thus giving Catalonia it's unique culture.

The village lies at the foot of Mount Canigou (2785m), long regarded as the sacred mountain of the Catalan people and is a perfect location for walking, with the added attractions of the beaches of the mediterranean sea and Spain
