Barn Cottage is ideally situated in the beautiful tranquil corner of rural South Somerset, bordering Devon and Dorset. Originally a farm stable, it was converted and extended 20 years ago, and recently refurbished. The cottage offers stunning views looking towards the highest hills in Dorset. Our fresh, light, double and twin rooms are stylishly decorated with Sanderson fabrics and Persian rugs. The beds are very comfortable with crisp sheets, duvets and individual quilted throws. The rooms have binoculars, hairdryer, flowers, hospitality tray with fresh milk, remote colour TV/DVD, clock radio, and always stacks of magazines and books and DVD's. The bathrooms are ensuite with luxury quadrant walk-in shower cubicles, lovely thick, soft towels and high quality lotions and potions for that bit of pampering! Overlooking the garden is the dining room, where we provide plenty of scrumptious home made food, ranging from porridge to a full English breakfast with, of course, fresh fruit. Barn Cottage, is ideally located halfway between London and the Eden Project in Cornwall. Within a half hour drive is the beautiful Heritage Coast at Lyme Bay, and within a few miles are many stately homes and gardens such as, Forde Abbey, Tintinhull, Barrington Court, Montecute House.There are excellent coastal and countryside walks, cycle routes, sailing and fishing at Lyme and country pubs. We are in the middle of many hidden golden stone villages, pretty market towns with thriving Farmer's Markets, lovely little by-roads, golf, riding, swimming and other sporting opportunities.
