Moorlands was built in the late 19th Century to provide shelter for travelers on the old Lynton to Barnstaple railway. In recent years it has been extended to provide bed and breakfast and self-catering accommodation with its own private residents bar, dining room with open fire and secluded outdoor swimming pool.. The accommodation is comfortable and quiet, with large double bedded rooms; one with a second double room suitable for use as a family suite. All rooms have en-suite facilities, colour television and beverage making facilities. Our Licensed Dining Room is open every evening with meals available on request. After dinner residents are welcome to relax with their coffee or a nightcap from the bar in our Residents Lounge. During the colder months warmed by our Victorian open fire which provides both comfort and entertainment, a small library is also available to help while away the hours. Moorlands is set in six acres of grounds within the Exmoor National Park, with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Surrounded by arable farmland and wild moor, the beautiful Woody Bay, with its cascading waterfall, within two miles walk or drive are well worth a visit. The twin towns of Lynton and Lynmouth are only four miles away, offering a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. A little further afield are the beautiful beaches of Woolacombe and Croyde for those who prefer the sun, sea or surf.
