The Arches is owned and run by the Birkbeck family. The main building was originally a working farm dating back to 1876. It was sympathetically converted into the hotel in 1998, retaining many original features including the line of old stage coach archways that give the hotel it's name.

We have eight twin and double rooms, all en-suite and for 2006 we have been awarded a four star rating by the English Tourist Board. We pride ourselves on our relaxed, informal atmosphere and good old fashioned food. We have a variety of different menus to choose from depending on the event or function you're planning. None of these are set in stone and we're quite happy to discuss any ideas or specific requirements you have.

The hotel is located just 1 mile outside of Brotton, right beside Hunley Hall golf club. We've no connection with the club, but it provides us with a scenic backdrop and peaceful neighbours. The hotel is excellent for ramblers exploring the Heritage Coast Trail that passes our door.
