An old Victorian terrace built in 1890, visitors to the popular historic city of York are presented with a wonderful base to explore its many attractions at 23 St. Mary’s. Steeped in history and heritage, guests are perfectly positioned in the city with York Minster just five minutes away. Our rooms range from singles up to family-sized, varying in size and shape. Furnishings and fabrics have all been chosen individually to complement. Some bedrooms have hand painted furniture and some have antiques, but all have private bath/shower room. Our concession to today's world includes: direct dial telephones, colour television, hair dryers and tea and coffee trays to suit your individual needs. A delightful full English breakfast is served in the dinning room each morning. We are also near to a host of restaurants and pubs where delicious meals can be found matching the budgets and preferences of all, 23 St. Mary’s is a favourite with guests from the United States and Canada through its many recommendations in various travel magazines across the Atlantic. Our ancient and very beautiful city has much to offer visitors in both summer and winter. Perhaps you would enjoy a trip on the river or a day at the races. The city walls, museums and shops are just a short stroll away. Browse through the Shambles or walk the Snickleways of York, each day you will discover something different. Within easy driving distance are the Yorkshire Moors and Dales, Castle Howard and Harewood House. We are a Non-smoking accommodation. No pets are permitted on the premises.
